So far* we have not yet been invited to any (as yet "unconfirmed") local events which No.7
may be able to attend during the year,
but we are always "hopeful" - watch this space !
* - in view of the ever increasing cost of fuel, etc. to take Replica Tram No.7 to any event
- we need prior assurance
of a generous "donation" to cover the costs will be available before making formal agreement to attend

Fields, Llandudno throughout the Festival)

This was "substituted" on the day as we were stopped from entering the Prom Day event at the enterance

Llandudno to give 'static support' to the
D-DAY - 80 Years On - The Longest Yarn event at Trinity Church
(Owing to roadworks outside the church, the smaller "Model Tramway" bus substituted on 19th October)
Thursday - 28th November 2024 - Visit to the "Colwyn Bay Christmas Lights Switch-on"

was on display
We had also offered to also bring along our full sized Replica Tram No.7, but on arrival on the day we were refused
access
- instead No.7 made a "hauled run" along the entire former route through Colwyn Bay....

owing the on-going essential maintenance work - delayed due to Covid and financial constraints -
we are unable to take No.7 to the parade.........
..........BUT in true railway fashion, we arranged a decorated and illuminated "TRAM REPLACEMENT"
bus to cover our place in the Parade
A special thanks to its owner who stepped in last minute to loan one of his buses to the Ll&CBTSoc !!!!

Saturday - 5th December 2020 - " Llandudno Christmas Parade " --- CANCELLED
Despite large Christmas events taking place in some Tier Three area in England (eg Nottingham)..........
..........the Welsh Government made it clear such events would not happen in North Wales (even though the "R" rate
is considerably lower than in South Wales
so stopping any chance of No.7 being able to "escape" from her winter stotage
Thursday - 1st October 2020 - " Visit by a S4C TV filming Crew "
Saturday/Sunday/Monday - 8th, 9th and 10th May 2020 - " Llandudno Victory and
Victorian Extravaganza " --- Owing to the
Coronavirus restrictions, this event was CANCELLED - so No.7 had to remain at her winter storage
IMPORTANT
This is traditionally our main fund-raising weekend of the year
and without that, we need to quickly raise £1,000 pounds now for the rent to keep Tram No.7 securely
protected under cover and for basic maintenance materials to enable her to again visit local events once the
Pandemic is over
Our contingency fund has had to be spent over the winter on essential repairs to the road trainer on
which No.7 is mounted, without which it would be impossible to move her
We are an extremely small society and unlike many other groups, unfortunately do not have any generous
benefactor
If just 100 readers of this website were to contribute £10 – we would quickly reach the target and
ensure the future of the tram – which might well be in doubt if we fail to raise enough money
We know this is a very difficult time for everyone, so rather than just giving and getting nothing
in return, please join the Society (same £10) for the next year and in return you will get a copy of the
Society Magazine (issued 3 or 4 times annually) as well as the opportunity to come on board the tram to look
round next time she is able to go out” |

(the local manager of contractors "Bowmer & Kirkland") dug up to construct
a manhole for the new Council Offices in Conway Road at Colwyn Bay

In order to construct a manhole for the new Council Offices in
Conway Road at Colwyn Bay, contractors "Bowmer & Kirkland"
dug up a 10 foot section of track
Aled Roberts (the local manager) kindly donated it to us at an
informal hand-over presentation on Tuesday 26th June
(the piece of track can be seen behind - already loaded on the lorry)
We intend to make a feature of it along with photos to show where it came from !
It is hard to believe it is nearly 63 years since the last tram (No.8) ran over it late on Saturday 24th March 1956
